Yellow Canvas Jacket - Hand Dyed with Flowers
This jacket is made from an 8 oz organic cotton canvas. The feel is sturdy but light weight. yellow parts of the coat are hand dyed by me with plant material. This fabric was dyed with a goldenrod, marigold and rudbeckia combination. The pockets and collar are made out of denim scraps and the placket lining is made from organic cotton ticking scraps.
This jacket would be good for layering or perfect for spring and fall as it is unlined. This jacket was pre-washed and should not shrink. Because this jacket was hand-dyed with plant matter I suggest washing in it cool water with a neutral soap. You may dry it in the dryer but for better preservation of the fabric laying flat or hanging to dry is best. It is best to not dry plant dyes in direct sunlight as they may more quickly fade or discolor.
Also! Please note that hand dyes will not always be uniform (in fact the dye is likely NOT to be uniform) and may have blemishes or unevenness from the dye bath. This coat has a few of those dye pot irregularities, especially on the back (see photographs). Please be aware so that this is a reason to appreciate the garment as opposed to returning it.
Please read my description on how to measure as I don’t have the ability to pay for returns and want you to love this jacket! This jacket is in the ‘medium/large’ size range but please check the photo measurements against a similar garment that fits you well.
*screens may show different colors and lighting is a factor for me when taking photographs so be aware the color may vary from these photos
